除了作賓語補(bǔ)足語之外,動(dòng)詞不定式還可以在句中作目的狀語,表示行為動(dòng)作的目的。例如:

(2)Shepractiseseverydaytoimprovehersingingskills.她每天都在練習(xí),以提高自己的歌唱技巧。
以上例句中,動(dòng)詞不定式都作目的狀語,表示“做某事是為了什么"。例如句子(2)中,toimprovehersingingskills就是目的狀語,表示practiseseveryday的目的。
在作目的狀語時(shí),不定式既可以放在句首,也可以放在句尾。例如:
Dylantrainedhardtoimprovehisbasketballskills.
Dylan刻苦訓(xùn)練以提高自己的籃球技術(shù)。
也可以說:Toimprovehisbasketballskills,Dylantrainedhard.
【注意】1.除了直接使用todosth之外,我們還可以使用inordertodosth和soastodosth來表示行為動(dòng)作的目的。例如:
