whether/if及疑問詞引導(dǎo)的賓語從句

1.whether/if引導(dǎo)的賓語從句

whether與if意為“是否“,在我們表達(dá)不確定的概念時(shí),用whether/if引導(dǎo)賓語從句。此時(shí)

whether/if在從句中不作句子成分,但不能省略。一般情況下可以互換使用。

Heaskedif[whether]wewantedadrink.他問我們是否想喝一杯。

Hedidn'ttellmeif[whether]hewouldcome.他沒有告訴我他是否會(huì)來。

1)在介詞后、不定式之前、以及直接與ornot連用時(shí),只能用whether。

Itdependsonwhethertheletterarrivesintime.這取決于信是否來得及時(shí)。

Ididn'tknowwhethertolaughortocry.我真是哭笑不得。

IwillwritetoyouwhetherornotIcancome,我能不能來,我將寫信告訴你。

注意:若不是直接與ornot用在一起,則有時(shí)也可用if:

Idon'tknowwhether[if]hewillwinornot.我不知他是否能贏。

2)當(dāng)引導(dǎo)一個(gè)否定的賓語從句時(shí),通常用if而不用whethero

Idon'tcareifitdoesn'train.我不在乎天是否下雨。

注意:在個(gè)別詞語(如wonder,notsure等)后的從句否定式有時(shí)也可用whether引導(dǎo)。

Iwonderif[whether]heisn'tmistaken.我想知道他是否錯(cuò)了。

2.疑問詞引導(dǎo)的賓語從句

賓語從句還可以由疑問詞what,which,who,where,when,how,why等引導(dǎo)。疑問詞在句中

有實(shí)際意義,且在賓語從句中充當(dāng)句子成分,不能省略。疑問代詞在從句中作主語、賓語、表語和

定語等;疑問副詞在句中作狀語。
