2.1Basicrequirements

Requirementsforsuppliersofsealingmaterialsasper

Vulcanizationprocessfreefromdi-o-tolylguanidine(DOTG)andfreefromitscleavageproduct,o-toluidine.

Elastomerqualitiesaretestedonparts,partsections,or,inexceptionalcases,testplates(see

section3.1

).

Samplesmustalwaysbedeliveredwiththemanufacturer'squalitydesignation.

Thenumberofpartsrequiredforlaboratoryevaluationmustbeagreeduponwiththeappropriatematerialslaboratory.

Deviationsfromthisstandardmustbeindicatedindrawingsandinspectionreports.

PartswhosegradescannotbeclassifiedonthebasisofthisstandardrequirespecificTechnicalSupplySpecifications(TLs).

Recycledmaterialsmustnotbeusedasrawmaterialsinpartsthataresubjecttodynamicloadsduringdrivingoperation.

Inthiscontext,recycledmaterialmeansmixturecomponentsthatarefedbackintotherubbermix‐tureasproductsofarecyclingprocess(thermal,mechanical,andchemical)fromfullyvulcanizedrubberproducts(newpartsorusedparts,e.g.,usedtires).Examplesofthisarereclaimedrubber,regeneratedrubber,rubberpowder,andcarbonblack.
