The Design for the Writing Period of 21st Century Mobile Phones(說課詳案) No. 23 濟南中學(xué) 劉宇晨Part 1 Analysis of the teaching materialFrom the reading passage, students have learned a lot about the topic “Mobile phones”. So in this period, students are required to create two compositions. One is about mobile phones, and the other is a passage of giving suggestions. Part 2 Analysis of students Writing a composition is difficult for the average students, especially in the writing skills and using the proper words and sentence structures.Part 3 Teaching aims 1. Knowledge aims: Students can write down two passages smoothly.2. Ability aims: Improve their ability of writing, cooperating and communicating. 3. Moral aims: Arouse students interest in the features, development and functions of mobile phones. Be aware of the good and bad effects of mobile phones.Part 4 Important and difficult points Help students get familiar with the features, development and functions of mobile phones Help them write a composition on mobile phones. A competition will be held in different steps. The group who get the most correct answers will be the winners. )My teaching procedure Step 1 Revision (A competition is included.)(5m)In the last two periods, we have talked a lot about 21st Century Mobile Phones. I am sure you have learned many words and expressions about the features, development and functions of mobile phones. Lets have a competition to see how many words and expressions you have already known. What you will write can be inside and outside of the passage. Each group has two minutes to write down on a piece of paper. Your work will be marked according to the number of words or phrases or sentences. Then check the answers. Purpose: Arouse the students interest in the topic and review what they have learnt in the reading part. Step 2 Oral practice (5m)As is known to us all, mobile phones are becoming very popular. There are many kinds of mobile phones in the market, but many young people think it is very fashionable to have an IPhone4. Now see the picture of Iphone4, suppose its your iphone4. Lets create a composition orally with My Iphone4 as its title. I hope every one can give us a short and brief description of your mobile phone orally according to what we have learned. Your oral composition should include: Para1: the features of your mobile phone Para2: the functions of it ( at least five) Para3: the role it plays in your daily life First pair work, then present your oral composition to the whole class. Surely you can write down something when necessary. Purpose: This part is intended to consolidate what we have learned during the reading period and improve their practical application skills.Step 3 Group discussion (3m)In the reading passage, we have learned the features, the development, the functions and the future of mobile phones. Now if we continue to write the passage, what should we write about? Student may give various answers.Possible answers may be : the good effects of mobile phones on people of all ages the bad effects of mobile phones on people of all ages, especially high school students Purpose: This part aims to let students think freely and creatively and lead the students to the next writing part, writing a composition of giving suggestions. Step 4 Pre-writing (8m)1. In step 3, we have discussed that mobile phones have a bad effect on us, especially high school students. Here I have got a post from one of my students from the internet. Here are some suggestions that may be helpful to you. Firstly, I think you should know that you are a student of senior Grade Three, and you have a lot of books to read in this valuable year. Secondly, youd better turn it off in class and then you can concentrate on your study. Then, it might be a good idea to let your mother remind you not to play with it sometimes at home. Dont let it take up too much of your time. I hope these suggestions will be useful to you and that you can give up playing with your mobile phone.While reading , you should pay attention to: The underlined sentences and phrases ( The underlined sentences and phrases are suitable for the kind passage of giving people some advice.) Transitional words(過渡詞) Firstly: first of all to begin with to start with Secondly: besides whats more in addition Thirdly: finally last but not least Purposes of step5, 6, 7: Let the students write their own passage and know how to write a passage of giving messages.
