udesanof?cedevelopmentandnewmarinafacilities.WaterfrontretailhasbeendesignedbyHaskollasconsultants,incooperationwithDanisharchitectsVilhelmLauritzenandformsanexclusiveselectionofshopsandrestaurantsanchoredbyanH&Montwolevels.Client:Carlsberg/Braaten+Pederson10ShoppingCentresShoppingCentres12ShoppingCentresEUROPLAZA?BEIJING?CHINAEuroPlazashoppingcentreissituatedtotheNorthEastofBeijingcitycentreneartheprestigiousEurovillageresidentialareaandtheInternationalExhibitionCentre.EuroPlazaisideallysitedtotakeadvantageofboththesedevelopments.Haskollweretheretailandshoppingcentredesignconsultantswhowereappointedtomaximisetheshopperenvironmentandverticallayout.Thecrisplinearlinesofthenorthelevationfacetheexhibitioncentrewhilethesouthfacadehasbeentieredtotakeaccountofthescaleofthelowriseresidentialdevelopments.TheinteriorofthemallhasbeendesignedaroundtheconceptofWaterandEarth,wherenaturalmaterialshavebeenusedinamoderncontextthroughout.Client:HarvestCapitalShoppingCentres13ShoppingCentresMANORVéSENAZ?GENEVASituatedinthewealthysuburbofGeneva,ManorVésenazismadeupofadepartmentstoreontwolevelswithasupermarketonthegroundlevelwithasmallmallareaandrestaurantandcaféonthethirdlevelleadingoutontoanoutsideterrace.Thebriefwastoprovidemallinterior?nishesthatwerevibrantandchicforthesophisticatedlocalresidentsandtosuccessfullyintegratethesupermarketandthedepartmentstore.Haskollachievedthisbyintroducingdetailsandnewmaterials;aBarrisolceilingwithintegratedswivellightingandcircularceilingfeatureswereused,acharcoalgrey?ooraddedurbanchic,complimentarycolours-redandgreen,wereusedonverticalsurfacestogivetheschemeacuttingedge.Haskollweretheinteriordeisgnconsultantsworkingwiththebuildingandretailers’architects.Client:MausFrèresShoppingCentres15ShoppingCentresEASTGATE?BASILDONTheHaskollroleasarchitectsandinteriordesignerswastochangethetiredandoutdated?nishesofEastgateshoppingcentre,changingtheambiencetomeetmodernrequirements,witharefreshedandenhancedenvironmentbyselectiveremodellingofvoidedgesandtheremovalofoutmoded?nishesandsigns.Inmodernisingandrejuvenatingthemallenvironmentthedesignaspirationwastomaketheshoppingareaswelcomingandfriendly,toattractawiderrangeofshoppersandtounderpinEastgate’scommercialsustainability.Haskollalsodesignedanew‘FoodTerrace’ontheupperlevel1,300m2withseatingfor650people.The‘FoodTerrace’isarrangedasaseriesofunitsalonga‘ribbonoflight’aroundacentralseatingarea.ItlinksseamlesslytotheWelcomeLoungeandawardwinningnewsustainablepublictoiletsandchildcaresuite.Overallthedesignre-invigoratestheinternalambienceoftheEastgate,positivelychangingtheperceptionoftheshoppingcentretobothcustomersandtheretailersandprovidingamallenvironmentthatismodernandlonglasting.Client:BritishLandLowerMallLevelShoppingCentres17CENTREBOUJEAN?BIENNEHaskolldesignedthisnewoutoftownshoppingcentrecomplexincorporatingaCarrefourHypermarket,DIYstore,shopunits,restaurantandundergroundsinglelevelcarparkingforover500cars.ThecentrewasundertakenonbehalfofSwitzerland’sleadingretailorganisation,MausFrèresandisonasiteadjacenttoalightindustrialzonewhere,amongothers,Rolexhavetheirfactory.HaskollproducedtheoverallconceptandworkedwithlocalarchitectsStrasslerandStorckandGebertLiechtSchmid.Haskollhadresponsibilityfordevelopingthesiteandmalllayout,designconcept,outlinedetailsandinteriordesign.ThelocalarchitectscreatedtheexternalarchitectureandexecutedtheprojectonsitewithHaskollmonitoringthedesign.Client:MausFrères18ShoppingCentresAUSTRIANCENTREHaskollwonaninternationalcompetitiontodesignafamilyorientatedcentreinAustriathatincludesshoppingandrecreationalspace.Thisprojectincludesamajorextensionandre-designoftheexistingretaillayout,pedestrian?ow,carparking,servicing,landscapeaswellastheinteriorandelevationaldesign.Thedesignisadeliverabletransformationthatisaneconomic,environmentalandsociallysustainableproject,aimingtobealocalandregionalattraction.Both,interiorandexteriordesignsembracetheconceptofconnectingwiththeenvironmentandisacontrastbetweentheforms,colourandgeometryfoundinnature.Haskollaretheappointedconceptandinteriorsarchitectsworkingalongsidealocaldeliveryarchitect.19ShoppingCentresShoppingCentresSTANTOINE?VEVEYOriginallytwodepartmentstoresbuiltinthe1970s–StAntoineShoppingCentrewascreatedwhenthetwowerejoinedin1984formingafourstoreycentrewithacentralatrium.TheHaskollinternalrefurbishmentwasundertakentowinbackcustomersandoffsetthecommercialthreatofanewadjacentcentre.Themainentrancewastothesideofthebuilding,thepedestrian?owdidnotwork,shopfrontheightswereverylow,lightlevelsinconsistentandallsurfaceswereoutdated.Circulationwasimprovedbymovingthecentrallifttothesideofthemallandaddinganotheralongside.Themainentrancewasmovedfromthesideofthebuildingtothefrontfa?ade.Theshoppingenvironmentwasradicallyimprovedbyreplacingall?nisheswithfresher,contemporarymaterialsbe?ttingamodern,urbaninterior.Shopfrontheightswereincreased,givingastrongerretailpresence.ICSCInternationalMeritAwardICSCEuropeanFinalistClient:MausFrèresShoppingCentres21STENOCH?GLASGOWStEnochisScotland’slargestcitycentreshopp
