AsanationalliteratureofCanada,itconsistsoftwoparts:EnglishliteratureandFrenchliterature.andFrenchliterature.CanadianFrenchliteraturecanbetracedbacktothe17thcentury,anditsdevelopmenthistorycanbedividedintofourstages:theNewFranceperiod(1534-1763),theBritishcolonialperiod(1763-1867),thesecondhalfofthe19thcenturytothebeginningofthe20thcentury,andthe20thcentury.DuringNewFranceperiod(1534-1763),thereareworksasJourneytoNorthAmerica(1702),DialoguebetweenBaronLaundangandBarbarians(1704),etc.

Thesematerialsrecordthelivinghabits,customsandcustomsofthelocalindigenousIndians,recordthelives,thoughtsandfeelingsoftheFrenchpioneers,anddescribethenaturalfeatures,astronomy,geography,animalsandplantsofNewFrance.DuringBritishcolonialrule(1763-1867),theMontreal(1778)andtheCanadian(1806-1893),TreasureHunterortheinfluenceofaBook(1837)arethefirstcollectionsofpoemsandnovelsinFrenchliterature.Fromthesecondhalfofthe19thcenturytothebeginningofthe20thcentury.

In1867,thefirsthistoryofCanadaappeared,theHistoryofCanada(1845-1848),whichrecordedthedevelopmentprocessofFrenchimmigrantsinNorthAmericaandwasknownas"theBibleoftheFrench-speakingpeopleofCanada",whichmadeaspecialcontributiontopromotingtheawakeningofnationalconsciousness.itinfluencedthebasiccontentofliterarycreationinthesecondhalfofthe19thcentury.

Atthesametime,thepoetryofthisperiodcreatedtheearlyromanticism.
