Step1:Warm-up

1.Greeting:Greetthestudentsandaskthemabouttheirdaysusingthetargetlanguage.Forexample,"Whattimedoyougetupinthemorning?"

2.Showapictureofanalarmclockandaskthestudentsiftheyknowwhatitis.Explainthatitiscalledanalarmclockandisusedtowakeusupinthemorning.

Step2:Presentation

1.Showpicturesofdifferentdailyactivitiessuchasgettingup,havingbreakfast,goingtoschool,etc.Teachandelicitthetargetvocabulary:getup,havebreakfast,gotoschool,havelunch,gohome,havedinner,gotobed.Writethewordsontheboardandhavethestudentsrepeatafteryou.

2.UseTPR(TotalPhysicalResponse)tohelpthestudentsunderstandthemeaningofthewords.Forexample,demonstrategettingupbystandingupandstretchingyourarms,orhavebreakfastbymimingeating.

3.Userealobjectstoreinforcethemeaningofthewords.Forexample,showabowlandspoonfor"havebreakfast"andaskthestudentstosaytheword.

Step3:Practice

1.Havethestudentspracticesayingthedailyactivitiesinorder.Usethepicturesorflashcardsaspromptsandhavethestudentstaketurnssayingthewords.

2.Oncethestudentsarecomfortablewiththevocabulary,introducethequestionandanswerpattern:"Whattimedoyou[activity]?""I[activity]at[time]."Modelthequestionandanswerwithastudentandthenhavethestudentspracticeinpairs.

Step4:Listening

1.Playtheaudiorecordingofthedailyactivities.Havethestudentslistenandrepeataftertherecording.

2.Playtherecordingagainandhavethestudentswritedownthecorrectorderofthedailyactivities.

Step5:Production

1.Dividethestudentsintopairsorsmallgroupsandhavethemcreateadialogueusingthetargetlanguage.Theyshouldaskandanswerquestionsabouttheirdailyactivities.Forexample,"Whattimedoyougetup?""Igetupat7o'clock."

2.Haveafewgroupssharetheirdialogueswiththeclass.

1.Reviewthetargetvocabularyandaskthestudentstoactoutthedailyactivities.

2.Playagamewherethestudentshavetomatchthepicturecardswiththecorrectvocabularyword.

1.Summarizethekeypointsofthelessonandreviewthetargetvocabulary.
